It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7
🇩🇪 A German teenage boy was prosecuted by the police for blaming slow internet on Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Germany's police opened a formal criminal investigation into a teenager who insulted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on X (formerly known as Twitter) over experiencing slow download speeds for a video game called Fortnite.
The teenager posted a frustrated tweet cursing out Olaf Scholz because a 37.9 GB Fortnite update was crawling at an incredibly slow 173 KB/s, a rate that would take over 60 hours to complete.
Despite garnering only 503 views, the tweet caught the attention of German authorities.
The police eventually dropped the criminal proceedings after the teenager was forced to delete the post.
Many speculated that Mixtape was funded by the Australian government. Turns out, it's actually true. "Industry plant" is no longer an adequate description. The awful girlboss writing seems to align with the priorities of Australian government bureaucrats.
It is confirmed. Mixtape is a nepo-backed astroturfed game.
It is developed by a small Australian studio, Beethoven and Dinosaur, and funded by Annapurna Interactive, headed by Megan Ellison. Yes, THAT Ellison family, where her father Larry Ellison, who is one of the most connected to Israel's elites, donated over $16 million in 2017 alone.
Larry's son, David Ellison's Skydance/Paramount, secured nearly $24 billion in equity investments from the Saudi public investment fund, plus others from Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile Larry himself is personally funding portions of the equity commitments in the media deals.
That means Annapurna Interactive, with family ties to the Ellison wealth, has incredibly deep pockets that most indies could only dream of. This is why they were able to secure expensive music licences, massive marketing, and a multiplatform launch. No evidence that Israel or Middle East money touched the game, but the money is in the family and family talk.
Critics are eating it up like slop with near-universal 9-10 of 10 ratings, while the players are skipping it, calling it an overrated walking sim.
Annapurna Interactive markets itself as a "prestige" publisher, which aligns with the "high class" artsy vibe that critics love, but the audience doesn't care for. Their only massive commercial success was Stray, the cat game...
Meanwhile, pretty much every other game published by Annapurna was a flop or niche... and this one is proving the same as well, with barely 2000 people playing the game on steam.
do you understand what just happened to your computer..
Google Chrome secretly downloaded a 4GB AI model onto your device. Without asking.. Without telling you..
It's called weights.bin. It lives deep in your system folders. It powers Gemini Nano - Google's on-device AI.
And if you delete it? Chrome re-downloads it automatically. Like nothing happened.
Just Google deciding your hard drive is their storage unit.
At 1 billion Chrome users - that's 4 BILLION gigabytes of data pushed silently across the internet.
The carbon footprint alone equals tens of thousands of cars running for a year.
Check your disk right now:
📁 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\OptGuideOnDeviceModel
To stop it: chrome://flags → disable Optimization Guide On Device Model → restart Chrome → delete the folder.
Reshare so people know what's sitting on their computers.

🇩🇪 Germany’s government is proposing a bill that could block people from buying homes if they’re suspected of “anti-constitutional” views — even without any criminal conviction.
The draft would give local authorities first refusal on property sales and allow intelligence agencies to share personal data to vet buyers. It is framed as a way to stop extremism.
