@ViewFromTheQ The scenes in the park this week have been an utter disgrace. AELTC pride themselves on style - have any of their board been over to the public park and witnessed the shambles? starting from last weekend before their much marketed Queue was supposed to start.Of course not cowards

So this is what they, AELTC, call a 'park'! 'Tennis in an English country garden!' NO, this is just a service area to their sports complex. Industrial in size and scope. Oh, btw, it's not even public!
An updated photo highlighting the total area of concrete around the proposed 38 tennis courts alone - 4.9 kms 😱#environment The concrete rectangles are filled with gravel, then topped with loam, soil and a minuscule amount of heavily managed grass

@OuternetGlobal this is such an important development. It preserves a piece of UK’s increasingly important music history but helps move it into the future….. Culture and economy. With massive social benefits as well. brilliant…
Helen brings a wealth of experience in guiding large-scale customer-facing organisations. The teams at @PPLUK, @PRSforMusic, @pplprs and I look forward to working with her in her new role as Chair of PPL PRS Ltd for the benefit of licensees and music creators around the UK.
DAY 9 Question for AELTC - you talk of the new Stadium being surrounded by a ring of Ancient Oaks. How can you guarantee that? The RPA’s of these huge trees goes far and wide underground and is susceptible to damage during excavation & construction of a 100 mtrs wide Stadium.
@UCantBSeriuSW19 Gosh absolutely and what about the change in daylight and sunlight getting to these trees - they’ll be shaded by a 28 metre high Stadium & may only get direct light for a small % of the day - totally compromised. I hear they think they can move some of these huge trees around! 😩
DAY 8 question for AELTC re their application to annihilate Wimbledon Parkland. How many lorry movements will there be (polluting Merton & Wandsworth) every day, every week, every month and every year for 10 years? @GreenpeaceUK@ClimateMerton@Merton_Council#ClimateActionNow
Day 6 question to AELTC re their proposed ITC. Why will you not organise face to face mtgs with residents to answer these concerns & more? If you try to break the 1993 agreements you promised via the covenants, how can anyone - whether local or not, trust anything you pronounce?
Day 5 Question to AELTC re their proposed Industrial Tennis Complex - as the southern hilly section containing the 30,000 sq ft maintenance hub is NOT a truly public park, how many days will the permissive park actually be open to the public? @Merton_Council#facts
DAY 3 AELTC question - We’d like to know more about the 10 Ancillary Hubs being proposed. Where are the designs for the entire ‘PERMISSIVE PARK’ inc all TEN BUILDINGS and specifically the 30,000 sq ft one situated on Home Park Road? #ClimateCrisis#facts
We feel AELTC are only answering questions to issues they want to focus on - avoiding local residents’ concerns. Over the next wks we will be asking a series of questions which need addressing. Today’s question: IS IT TRUE THE 38 COURTS WILL BE SURROUNDED BY ELECTRIC FENCING?
