Earlier this year I was sitting with a very successful entrepreneur when he said something that hasn’t left me:

“Success hides a multitude of sins.”

Not failure.
Not pressure.
Success.

Because failure forces honesty. Success lets you avoid it. When things are working, you don’t feel the urgency to look deeper.

So what gets hidden? Not the obvious stuff. The subtle things:
The conversations you keep postponing.
The standards you quietly lowered six months ago.
The role you’ve outgrown but refuse to release.
The parts of your leadership that got you here… but won’t take you there.

And here’s where it gets real. Success doesn’t just hide problems. It reinforces them. Because whatever is producing results gets protected.

Even if it’s unsustainable.
Even if it’s misaligned.
Even if it’s slowly costing you your clarity, your relationships, or your purpose.

So instead of asking, “How do I keep this going?”

The better question is: “What am I tolerating right now because things are still working?”

That’s the question most high-performing leaders avoid. And it’s the one that separates those who plateau… from those who evolve.

Because the next level of your business won’t be built on your current success. It will be built on what you’re willing to confront in spite of it.

Bring clarity → alignment returns
Move toward tension → trust increases

The leaders who build something that lasts don’t rush through hard moments, they use them.

They slow down and ask:

What is this revealing about me?
Where am I reacting instead of leading?
What needs to change in how I show up?

Then they make small, intentional adjustments. 1% better responses that compound over time. That’s the real advantage. Because in the end, your ability to lead yourself under pressure will determine how far your business can actually go.

Life update: We’re Texans now. 🇨🇱🤠

A few months ago, we made a big leap of faith.
We left home and a 30+ year career behind to step into something new.

Today, we’ve officially launched https://t.co/KobRPBRrsQ.

I’m now working with high-achieving leaders and entrepreneurs who are successful on paper, but hungry for something deeper. Helping them move toward a Lifetime of Better™ by growing their leadership, strengthening their businesses, and expanding their influence in healthy, sustainable ways.

One of the biggest highlights?
My wife has officially joined the business. She’s now coming alongside the wives of the leaders I coach, because no one builds a meaningful life or legacy alone.

We’re loving Texas, our new community, and the sense of alignment this time has brought. It feels like the right place, at the right time, doing the right work.
