@holflaffer@Erik9129 @MaddenMonopoly If they didnโt start LIV & donated the billions to pga tour would the tour have accepted it? 100% guaranteed yes they would, the source of money never mattered, this was always about not wanting competition, they crushed pro golf globally long before Liv
@TroyPoposki @sekrah yes, profile pic doesnโt match the reputation, itโs gotta change before Jay Monahan shuts down LIV, thatโs happening this year according to golf twitter ๐
@bigbrain2024@golfweek the tour isnโt trying to get a deal imo, they feel good with their SSG money & that will end up being a bad error in judgement once again, PIF is the only guarantee the pga tour survives long term, they canโt keep paying these purses, losing sponsors & losing eyeballs
@sekrah Love Xander & congrats to him but Bryson was the main attraction, heโs a huge star & those crowds were loudest for him, the real world is quite different than golf twitter, both Xander & Bryson had their stock rise, Padraig knows ๐ช
Loved watching Xander winning as it has been coming for a long timeโฆ
But my biggest takeaway from Valhallaโฆ
Bryson is great for golf.
He is an unbelievable player who also gives everything of himself to the fans.
Fun to watch
OR, golf was broken and is in the process of being fixed. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
1) average age of pga tour viewer recently went from 60 to 65. 2)totally US centric and no plan to globalize opportunities. 3) monopolistic control of media rights wouldnโt allow for players to use YouTube and other social platforms to promote the game to the next generation and working from within the Tour wasnโt an option. ie Bryson. What heโs doing now wasnโt allowed before LIV. Fixing the problem takes time but itโs better than waiting for it to collapse entirely.
