It is already illegal and incredibly uncommon for noncitizens to vote in our elections, so why are Republicans still pushing the SAVE America Act?
Because they have a historically unpopular president, and the only way they think they can win is by suppressing the vote.

Republican Congressman: DOGE is pretty much eliminated in the recent budget. Is there somewhere we can find what exactly DOGE accomplished?
Trump's Budget Director: We have no plans to do a closing DOGE report.
BREAKING: FOILED AGAIN! A federal judge just used Pete Hegseth's own unhinged anti-press rants to block his Pentagon press crackdown,
Ever since he left his cushy job at Fox News, Pete Hegseth has been raging about the media he was once an integral part of. On Tuesday, a federal judge made him eat every word.
s issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Defense Department's restrictions on press access to the Pentagon — and he did it by quoting Hegseth's own blather back at him, chapter and verse.
The rule Friedman blocked required all journalists visiting the Pentagon to have an official escort at all times — a policy the New York Times sued over in May after the DOD issued it as a workaround following the Times' earlier legal victory against Pentagon press restrictions.
But Hegseth handed the judge his own rope. Friedman cited "a consistent stream of derisive comments" from Hegseth in his ruling, methodically documenting the Defense Secretary's open hostility toward the press.
The judge quoted Hegseth attacking the Times for "slashing and burning people to ruin their reputations." He quoted Hegseth railing against the "legacy Trump-hating press" peddling an "endless stream of garbage." He even quoted Hegseth comparing reporters to the biblical Pharisees who "scrutinized every good act in order to find a violation, only looking for the negative."
The judge also made sure to include Pentagon flack Sean Parnell calling the Times "garbage" for good measure.
In other words: you told us exactly why you were doing this. And it wasn't national security.
Because that's the DOD's official excuse — that reporters were "maintaining a persistent physical presence near sensitive spaces." But when your Defense Secretary has spent months on record comparing journalists to ancient enemies of Jesus Christ, it gets a little hard to argue your escort rule is really about protecting classified information.
Meanwhile, Hegseth has been handing out press credentials to right-wing influencers and friendly outlets while squeezing out critical journalists. The goal was never security. It was control — deciding who gets to see what, and making sure unflattering coverage becomes impossible.
"This court has spoken at several points about the critical importance of protecting the freedoms enshrined in the First Amendment," Friedman wrote, "and that evergreen message bears repeating."
Let’s hope that Pete Hegseth, who has repeatedly tried to silence the press, hears it this time. The First Amendment doesn’t care how Hegseth wants himself and the Pentagon portrayed in the media. If he wants better press, he’s simply going to have to behave in a way that garners it.

The corrupt Supreme Court just sided with the wealthy and powerful against the American people—again.
After slamming the courthouse doors shut on families suing corporate giants like Monsanto, they’re now gutting the independent agencies that actually protect us, like the FTC which is fighting against monopolies, and the CFPB that’s returning hundreds of millions to consumers ripped off by big banks.
WATCH: Here’s Major Jason Watson of the US Air Force holding a sign that reads:
Impeach/Convict/Remove!
You can see him getting arrested for protesting in uniform at the Capitol.
This guy’s a hero!
Let’s give him a medal for his service and bravery!
Every day, Trump or Rubio or Vance declare a new Iran policy. Or make a claim about what’s being negotiated that isn’t close to true.
The truth is, there probably aren’t any substantive negotiations and they don’t want you to know this. They just threw billions down the drain.
🇺🇸 Biden YESTERDAY: “Bibi wanted war with Iran. I blocked it. I called him a war criminal and kicked him out of my office. He sold it to Trump. The rest is history.”
🇺🇸 Trump TODAY: "We started war to help Israel."
84 year old Biden was absolutely right about him 🔥
Depression is real and I’m glad my “congressman” is getting the help he has voted to take away from the American people.
But, the fact that no one on his team or in his orbit was communicating any of this to his constituents while he was still taking a paycheck, trading stocks and approving travel is unacceptable.
He needs to resign.
BREAKING: Trump just said that he wants to give himself a Presidential Medal of Honor.
WTF is wrong with this man?
He should give himself a prison sentence instead.
Holy shit! This tour of the White House trail of destruction is painful to watch.
Trump isn’t renovating anything. He’s taking a wrecking ball to history, and sending us the bill. Based on what we’ve seen so far, this is going to be a shoddy build that will need to be redone sooner rather than later.
This is the most brazen corruption ever seen from a sitting president.
In his first year back in office, Trump collected about $1.4 billion from new ventures he launched on the way into the White House, then cashed in on while sitting behind the desk.
For more than two centuries, presidents of both parties sold their holdings, set up blind trusts, and worked to avoid even the appearance of profiting from the office. George Washington treated public service as a sacrifice. Trump treats it as a business opportunity, and he does it in the open, on the theory that if he steals enough in plain sight nobody will call it what it is.
This is insane corruption.
It is a betrayal of the basic promise that a president serves the country and not himself. We must not let it become normal.https://t.co/nLVhDJmTuH
