מוחמד בהג'ת אל-חלאק, בן תשע, שיחק כדורגל עם ילדים ונערים נוספים בחצר בית הספר בכפר א-ריחיה שבמחוז חברון. אחר הצהריים, ב-16 באוקטובר 2025, נכנסו לכפר שני ג'יפים צבאיים. הילדים, שחששו מירי גז מדמיע כפי שקרה בעבר, נמלטו מהמגרש והסתתרו בין הבתים.

ארבעה חיילים יצאו מאחד הג'יפים. שניים מהם החלו לירות לכיוון שאליו ברחו הילדים; אחד ירה רימוני גז מדמיע והשני אש חיה. אחת היריות פגעה במוחמד. לאחר שנורה, המשיכו החיילים לירות רימוני גז לעבר המקום שבו שכב. כאשר תושב המקום ניסה להגיע למוחמד כדי לפנות אותו, הם ירו גם לעברו. לבסוף הצליח האיש להגיע למוחמד ולחלץ אותו. מוחמד פונה לבית החולים, שם נקבע מותו.

אמו, עאליה, סיפרה שמוחמד אהב מאוד כדורגל, היה תלמיד מצטיין וחלם להיות רופא. "כששיחק עם האחים שלו תמיד ביקש שיקראו לו 'הדוקטור מוחמד'. אבל החלום הזה כבר לא יתגשם אחרי שחייל ישראלי ירה בו והרג אותו".

מוחמד הוא אחד מתוך 54 ילדים ונערים שנהרגו בשנת 2025 על ידי הצבא בגדה המערבית. הדו"ח "ילדות חשופה" מציג את סיפוריהם ואת הנסיבות שהביאו למותם של כל אחת ואחד מהם.

מאז אוקטובר 2023 ועד 27 ליולי 2026 הרגה ישראל בגדה המערבית 1100 פלסטינים, מתוכם 242 ילדים ונערים. מציאות זו היא תוצאה של מדיניות ישראלית המאפשרת ומגבה את ההרג, מבלי שאיש נדרש לתת על כך את הדין.

Two hours ago, Israel shot and killed 10-year-old Amal Abu Khater while she was eating inside her family’s tent in Khan Younis.

I listened to a short interview with her shocked grandmother: “What did she do? She was just eating. A bullet hit her in the back, and she fell. When her uncle lifted her, she was bleeding heavily.”

Amal was one of only two children in her family.

On October 26, 2025, Muhammad Bahajat al-Halaq, 9, was playing soccer with other children and teenagers in the schoolyard of the village of a-Rihiya in the Hebron district. During the game, two military jeeps entered the village. Fearing that the soldiers would fire tear gas at them, as had happened before, the children ran from the playground and hid among the houses.

Four soldiers exited one of the jeeps. Two of them began shooting in the direction in which the children had fled. One soldier fired tear gas canisters, while the other fired live ammunition. One of the bullets struck Muhammad. After he was shot, the soldiers continued firing tear gas toward the spot where he had fallen. When a local resident tried to reach Muhammad, the soldiers shot at him as well. Eventually, the man managed to reach Muhammad and evacuate him. Muhammad was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His mother, ‘Aliyah, said that Muhammad loved soccer, was an excellent student, and dreamed of becoming a doctor. “When he played with his brothers, he would always ask them to call him ‘Dr. Muhammad.’ But that dream will never be fulfilled now that he has been shot and killed by an Israeli soldier.”

Muhammad is one of 54 children and teens killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank in 2025.  Our report, Unshielded Childhood, tells their stories and the circumstances that led to each of their deaths.

Since October 2023, 1,100 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in the West Bank, including 242 children and teenagers, through 27 July 2026. This reality is the result of an Israeli policy that enables and sanctions the killings, with no one held accountable.
