The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has released footage of the IRGC-N seizure of the two cargo vessels, the MSC Francesca and the Epaminondas, in the Strait of Hormuz earlier today. Per the White House press secretary, U.S. President Donald J. Trump does not consider the action to be a violation of the ceasefire. This, as the U.S. blockade of vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports continues.
THIS IS THE FULL MEMO TIM COOK JUST SENT TO APPLE $AAPL EMPLOYEES TALKING ABOUT HIM STEPPING DOWN AS CEO
Team,
Fifteen years ago, my friend and mentor Steve Jobs asked me to step into the role of CEO. It was an emotional and challenging moment for all of us at Apple, and I hoped I’d be up for the awesome responsibility I was taking on.
I knew then what I know now: that there are certain values embedded in Apple that are bigger than any of us; a belief in the simple, not the complex; a determination to innovate with a focus on those few things that are truly important to the world and meaningful to us; an impatience for anything less than excellence in every group in the company; a commitment to enriching the lives of those we have a privilege to touch with our work; and a resolve to do all that we can to leave the world better than we found it. Those were the values that made Apple what it was then, and I am proud to say that they are the ideals that animate each of us today.
Today, we have a truly extraordinary road map, and I have never been more optimistic about Apple’s future. That is why I have decided that now is the right time for me to transition to a new role of executive chairman. And I am thrilled to announce that John Ternus will be our new CEO.
Throughout the many years I’ve worked with him, and our many conversations about his becoming Apple’s next CEO, John’s passion and love for Apple shine through. He is a visionary in his own right, a man of remarkable integrity, and the kind of person we can all be proud to follow. John is the right leader to help us innovate into the future, to help us break new ground on big ideas and bold new pathways, and to ensure that the values that have made us so successful and so admired for the past 50 years will remain the core of our identity and our culture in the decades to come.
For my part, I will remain CEO through the summer and work very closely with John as we transition roles. In my new role as executive chairman, I plan to support John and Apple in a number of key areas and to be available to offer my experience whenever and wherever it is needed.
I want to offer my profound gratitude to the best executive team on the planet for your friendship and your brilliance over the years. And I want all of you, every member of the Apple team, to know how much it has meant to me to work with you. You are the most remarkable people in the world, and it’s because of you that Apple is such a special place. What we built, we built together, and you are why I am incredibly optimistic about the future. I know you will join me in congratulating John as we write this next chapter of Apple’s story.
We’ll be hosting a town hall tomorrow in the Steve Jobs Theater at 9 a.m. to talk about this and more. I’m looking forward to it.
With gratitude,
Tim
It’s mind-blowing in less than seven days after cleaning up the city for the Super Bowl guests! Today all the crazies are back on the streets @sfgov@DanielLurie
SF Mayor Daniel Lurie is extremely sensitive to how he is viewed by the public, so much so that we’re now learning he’s spent $870,000 out of his own pocket on PR consultants to manage his image in his first year in office. https://t.co/H4Sn7nAysn
A couple weeks ago, I came home and my wife, Silvia, said something I almost couldn’t believe.
She looked at me and she said, “I think our state needs you.” Because she believed I could help our kids. Help San José. And help California.
And if you know anything about Silvia — when she talks, you listen.
So I’m running for Governor of California — because we can do better.
I know we can, because we’re proving it in San Jose.
We’ve reduced unsheltered homelessness by nearly 1/3rd after a decade of growth. We were rated the safest big city in America last year for the first time in over 20 years. We’re the only city to have solved 100% of homicides nearly 4 years running. And we’re taking on affordability with urgency and honesty — unlocking thousands of housing units in the past couple years.
We need to stand up for our rights, for our freedoms and for our neighbors. We need to use the tools we have at hand to protect our democracy.
One tool is the law. The other tool is our results. We have to use both.
That’s how we fix California.
We don’t just need to be against something. We need to be for something — a government that proves it can solve problems for working people again.
And before we ask Californians to give more, we owe them proof that their government can do better.
So I’m running to bring focus back to government. To give cities the tools they need to succeed. To show that the best resistance to division is results.
And to prove that California can work again — for everyone.
That’s why I’m running.
And that’s the future Silvia and I are fighting for.

The wayward mountain lion who visited Pacific Heights has been captured safely. He was tranquilized after an hours-long standoff & will be released to a more suitable habitat. It was a coordinated effort of SFACC, The SFPD, SF Zoo, & CA Dept of Fish & Wildlife
🇺🇸 THE SAN FRANCISCO PARADOX: HOMELESSNESS BUDGET INCREASED 5X AND HOMELESSNESS WENT UP 56%
San Francisco's homelessness budget went from $202 million in 2016 to $1.1 billion in 2021 - a five-fold increase.
During that same period, the homeless population grew from 12,249 to 19,086 people.
So they spent 5 times more money and the problem got 56% worse.
The incentive structure is broken. NGOs managing homelessness services get paid based on the number of homeless people they're handling, which means solving the problem literally cuts their revenue.
More homeless people equals more funding, which creates zero pressure to actually reduce homelessness.
This is what happens when you build an entire industrial complex around managing a crisis instead of solving it.
The only people winning here are the organizations collecting government contracts while the problem they're supposed to fix keeps growing.

Today we launched reforms to Journey Home, turning it into a 24/7, citywide reunification and relocation program.
Journey Home helps people experiencing homelessness reconnect with family or relocate to a stable destination outside San Francisco—safely, voluntarily, and with real support.
This program brings together what were once separate efforts into one unified, citywide system that works when people are ready—any time, day or night. With 24/7 relocation assistance, travel planning, and follow-up support, we’re moving people off the streets and onto a path toward true stability.
Tesla's pricing moat is starting to become obvious:
- Low running costs due to EV drivetrain
- Low cost of insurance due to safety of FSD
- Low maintenance/repair due to both above
- Low 'fuel' expenses because EV + efficient drivetrain
We're not that far from Tesla being able to offer a $500 a month subscription with EVERYTHING baked in - car note, insurance, maintenance/repair, charging, AND FSD.

San Francisco Centre closing isn't about retail patterns changing. It's about open drug scenes, 8k homeless addicted to drugs and shoplifting until people stopped going there. Anyone who tells you different is in denial or lying to you. https://t.co/3q5WxtzeFK
I've got a big piece out this weekend about what i saw last week in SF, but i do want to say that i was asked one question more than any other: Is it all over and did Google win?
