ARTLETS OVERTAKES ENGINEERING AS FACULTY WITH HIGHEST ENROLLMENT TURNOUT: PRELIMINARY DATA
BREAKING: The Faculty of Arts and Letters has recorded the highest number of enrollees for Term 2, based on preliminary data from the Office of the Registrar released a week before the close of late enrollment.
As of Jan. 20, Artlets registered 3,755 enrollees, surpassing the Faculty of Engineering’s 3,684. The Faculty of Pharmacy logged 3,178 enrollees, followed by the College of Commerce and Business Administration with 2,660.
Total enrollment for the semester stands at 40,279 students, with 33,054 enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. Late enrollment will close on Jan. 27.
The Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) logged the highest enrollment turnout in Term 2 of Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025, surpassing the Faculty of Engineering, according to preliminary data from the Office of the Registrar.

UST 2ND BEST IN PH IN EDUCATION STUDIES, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SUBJECTS
BREAKING: UST’s education studies and medical and health subjects rank second among Philippine schools in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject, results released on Wednesday show.
For the first time, UST’s education studies subjects earned a spot in the THE subject rankings, landing in the 501-600 global bracket and securing the No. 2 spot in the Philippines, tied with the University of the Philippines (UP).
De La Salle University ranked No. 1 in the country after landing in the 401-500 bracket.
In the medical and health area, UST climbed to the 601-800 global bracket from 801-1,000 in 2024, maintaining its position as the second best school in the Philippines behind UP, which ranked in the 501–600 global bracket.
UST was not ranked in nine other subjects, namely: arts and humanities, business and economics, computer science, engineering, law, life sciences, physical sciences, psychology, and social sciences.

‘BOOSTING RESEARCH IN OTHER DISCIPLINES KEY TO IMPROVING RANKINGS’
Asst. Prof. Nestor Ong of the UST Office of the QS/THE Rankings said enhancing research productivity in other disciplines is crucial for the University to improve its rank in other subject areas.
In the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject, UST placed second among Philippine schools in the education studies and medical and health areas. However, it failed to rank in nine other fields, namely: arts and humanities, business and economics, computer science, engineering, law, life sciences, physical sciences, psychology, and social sciences.
