But seriously, what Senator Robin is saying is what is becoming increasingly obvious - we are being dragged into a conflict, not by China, but by the United States of America.

He is so spot on in raising the alarm over American Military presence in the South China Sea that is reinforcing our own vessels.

Because even as we have a treaty in mutual defense, the problem is that the US presence is an unnecessary provocation that would only escalate the tensions between the Philippines and China, and we seem to be playing right into that trap.

And yes Senator Robin, you are absolutely correct - the most unfortunate consequence of this is that we are being used as cannon fodder…

… and that we will become just another battleground in a proxy war of Superpower interests.
