Georgia HS teacher and @LibertyU grad. When we say there is a sex abuse crisis in the SBC, we don't just mean men/pastors. But the convention wants to stick its head in the sand and pretend we're still in the 1950s.
The SBC is still the largest and most influential evangelical denomination on the planet.
No organization takes the Gospel to more places in the world.
No organization defends the truth of Scripture more ferociously.
47k churches pulling on the same rope.
The Bride lives on.
If the #SBC was “played” re: abuse it was by allowing anyone or anything to derail our commitment to see churches make abuse prevention and response a top priority. Those minimizing past abuse or the ongoing vulnerability of children in our churches are misinformed or misguided.

Enslaved Africans were denied freedom, education, and dignity—but they were never able to be separated from God.
Many of them ALREADY KNEW Christ and they encountered Jesus not as a distant figure, but as a suffering Savior who knew oppression and promised deliverance.
Black History Month is not just cultural history—it is Christian history.
From brush arbors (go research it) to pulpits, from prayer circles to protest lines, Black believers have shaped the Church with courage, creativity, and deep unwavering faith in Jesus.
"We have a wonderful history behind us...and it is going to inspire us to greater
achievements."
Dr. Carter G. Woodson, Founder of Black History week

Today, we honor 100 years of Black History Month, which has grown into a national and global celebration of the achievements, resilience, and contributions of people of African descent. (ADOS).
We celebrate the past, the present, and the future being built every day.
