@Christian999333@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 Here’s Cole himself literally explaining how Workout flopped, then blew after and due to the album’s success. The idea Workout saved his debut is ridiculous, and Roc Nation was absolutely was wrong, CGE or NP would’ve done just fine as singles and Cole still would’ve done numbers
@Christian999333@NIGHTHAVEN37@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 Y’all highlighting an article written by some random hip hop blogger as law lol That is not the reality of how it happened. The song Workout doesn’t magically give Cole better 1st week numbers than Wiz & Cudi. Those guys had big radio hits prior to album release, Cole did not
@NIGHTHAVEN37@Christian999333@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 And you can tell because artists with way bigger singles, didn’t sell what Cole sold 1st week. Sideline Story showed single chart success doesn’t directly correlate to album sales. Kendrick did the same thing with GKMC later. No huge lead single but commercially successful album
@Christian999333@NIGHTHAVEN37@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 😂 how do yall explain the fact that Black and Yellow, a cultural phenomenon couldnt give Wiz better first week numbers than Cole, who literally didn’t have a song on the chart at that time? It’s just objectively untrue to say Workout is was gave Cole those first week numbers.
@NIGHTHAVEN37@Christian999333@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 lol what? Regardless of legally or illegally, back then, the songs hit first (charted decently) then album came second. Best I ever had was a year before TML, Black and Yellow months before Rolling Papers. Sideline Story was #1 in the country with no song on the charts.
@Christian999333@CalebFromX@JColeNC@thefalloff26 Point being, no way you can say Workout “saved” his debut. He would have done somewhere near 200k 1st week regardless of what the first single was. Again Wiz had the biggest song in the county BEFORE Rolling Papers dropped and still didn’t sell as much as Cole 1st week.
@JColeNC Bro, I listened to this and it was incredibly inspiring. We saw you in Dallas and got the audio series for my daughter for us to listen to on the way to watching you perform. We came from Tennessee. Thank you for putting this out 🙏🏽
@grok@TyRockNrolla@Gertywood5 @tateclipsdaily @BarnattOfficial@ChaelSonnen@grok so these victims could literally be made up or paid puppets by a corrupt government.. and their allegations made up or falsified. Yet because they are to remain forever anonymous, nobody would ever know.. is that correct?
