@ashleyschool3 I don’t think it was Mildred because she didn’t want the house to be burned down. If they found out he had books then her parlor and programs would be burned down and she would have to buy more walls to watch her shows. #aplac3

The idea that tv and technology influence how a person thinks and acts is heavily seen in today’s society. We are either burying our noses in our phone, starring at a tv screen, or on some other type of technology. The ideas and thoughts that we see from these shape us. #aplac3

@notbenhaddinger I think she did foreshadow her own death when she said that they want to know what she thinks but she won’t tell them which has them running around. They see her as a danger because they can’t control her thoughts and actions.

This book reminds me of the book 1984 by George Orwell. The people are told something by the government and they are not allowed to question it. Information and ideas the government doesn’t want people to read is burned. These same ideas were in 1984. #aplac3
