‼️ZELENSKYY: We will begin joint production with Norway of long-range 155mm artillery shells
“Our soldiers at the front, in fact, in all combat brigades, talk about a long caliber of artillery, long-range artillery shells. Killzones are increasing. The use of drones of all types is a priority. But the soldiers themselves say: artillery is needed, and especially long-range artillery. So now we have a new and very strong agreement with Norway. We will begin joint production of long-range 155mm artillery shells — exactly the type of ammunition we need. I thank Norway for taking such a necessary step” - Ukrainian President on Sunday, May 10th.
During meetings with President of the Storting of Norway Masud Gharahkhani and leaders of political parties, I thanked the parliamentarians for their strong and unwavering support throughout all the years of Russian aggression. Support from governments depends on the position of parliamentarians, and we value the unanimity of the Storting on the issues of assistance to Ukraine.
Over the years of this struggle, Ukraine has gained unique experience in protecting lives. And we are ready to share it for the security of Norway and the entire region. We discussed with the parliamentarians the work on preparing a Drone Deal between our countries. It is important to realize this opportunity to strengthen each other.
We also separately addressed the issue of establishing a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and the necessary steps to launch it. Justice is needed.
Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank “is going into overdrive, it’s worse than ever,” says Norway’s Foreign Minister @EspenBarthEide.
“Settler violence, settler activity, even supported by the Israeli government, allowing settlers to take full control of territories that legally is Palestine and which even agreements that Israel has signed have recognized as to be controlled by Palestinians.”

Isn’t that murder?
Norwegian NASAMS systems helped us a lot. I will not share the exact number of NASAMS we have, but it is more than ten and we are still getting them. We have also received missiles for NASAMS made by Norway. However, even domestic Norwegian stocks weren’t enough. And then Norway worked with other countries at the political level to provide us with some additional missiles. This was very important.
In parallel, we were working on joint production and IRIS-T systems. And then it was like a rising wave: when one country stepped up, other real allies, like Norway, followed. That was very good. This winter, Norway also helped us with gas which we needed after Russian attacks on our energy sector, including gas infrastructure.
And the people of Norway support these decisions. All parties in Parliament support them as well. Thank you. All countries have their own internal politics, but the unity in the Norwegian Parliament on Ukraine is crucial and we appreciate it.
All of these things, as well as the work on drones that we started and the fact that Norway is second-largest contributor to PURL, are deeply valued in Ukraine.
From an interview with NRK News (1/2)
Kaja Kallas:
We have to understand how the Russian negotiation tactic is.
It is always to demand something - the absolute maximum - something that has never been yours, and then present threats, ultimatums, use force.
And then eventually there will always be people in the West who will offer you something so that you walk away with more than you had.

“Can I bring my baby to the interview?”
The message came in at 11 PM:
“Hi, I have an interview with you tomorrow at 2 PM. My childcare fell through. Can I bring my 8-month-old? I understand if you need to reschedule.”
Old me would have rescheduled.
Unprofessional. Distraction. Red flag.
New me replied:
“Absolutely. See you tomorrow.”
She showed up with her baby on her hip.
She apologized three times before even sitting down.
Ten minutes in, the baby started crying.
She tried to soothe him while answering questions.
She apologized again.
I stopped the interview and said:
“Hey. You’re managing a fussy baby, answering complex questions, and staying calm under pressure. That’s literally the job. Handling chaos while staying professional. You’re already proving you can do it.”
Her eyes filled with tears.
We hired her.
She’s been with us for a year now.
The most reliable team member we have.
Why?
Because when you’re used to handling a screaming infant at 3 AM and still showing up to work the next day, workplace stress feels like nothing.
Working parents, especially mothers, are some of the most organized, efficient, and resilient people you’ll ever hire.
Yet we lose them because our hiring processes are built for people with zero caregiving responsibilities.
If your interview process can’t accommodate a parent facing a childcare issue, you’re not filtering for professionalism.
You’re filtering for privilege.
Why does the human being set goals while the Universe appears to be purposeless?
Where does this fundamental striving for direction and meaning arise within us?
From the very emergence of life on Earth, life carried within itself a quiet, unconscious orientation — a desire to persist, to hold on, to continue.
It was this ancient inner pull that allowed life to survive and grow; without it, life could not have existed in such a complex form.
Thus it became clear: where purpose disappears, the very possibility of living disappears as well.
Hence our human instinct to set goals — we merely continue what life began billions of years ago, but we do so consciously.
Over time, higher needs took shape within us, and to the simple drive to survive we added another — the desire to live with dignity, creating meaning, values, and a future.
Today, we are capable of raising these needs even higher, transforming them into an inspiring striving to elevate life itself, making it more substantial, meaningful, and flourishing.
