The discussion was moderated by Ms.Anusree Raha, Deputy Secretary, DoSEL and featured eminent panelists Dr. RajeshSagar, Head,Department of Psychiatry,AIIMS, Dr.Anjali Chhabra, Additional Director,CBSE and Shri Nikhil Kant, Deputy Director, AICTE.
The session emphasised the importance of mental well-being, preventive education and institutional support systems in creating safe, inclusive and substance-free educational environments for students across the country. It also highlighted the crucial role of teachers and parents in empathetically acknowledging students’ concerns, identifying early signs of mental health issues and appropriately handling such situations with care, sensitivity and support.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a review meeting at CBSE Headquarters, Dwarka, New Delhi today. The meeting was attended by the Secretary, DoSEL, CBSE Chairperson, Directors of IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur, along with senior officers from MoE, KVS, PSBs and CBSE.
In the meeting, the progress of the CBSE Class XII evaluation and post-result processes was discussed and reviewed. Deliberations focused on providing student friendly re- evaluation portal, strengthening CBSE’s digital platforms, enhancing student exam and result facilitation mechanisms, and improving evaluation and monitoring systems.
Stakeholders also highlighted measures undertaken for student support and outlined future plans for robust, transparent and technology-enabled service delivery aimed at greater student benefit.
School Management Committee (SMC) Guidelines 2026 aim to empower schools through holistic School Development Plans, improved infrastructure, effective implementation of educational schemes, child safety and quality education aligned with the vision of National Education Policy 2020.
By fostering active participation of parents, teachers, local authorities, alumni and community members, the guidelines reinforce accountable school governance for building vibrant and inclusive learning ecosystems across the country.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Shri @dpradhanbjp, launched the School Management Committee (SMC) Guidelines 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted that the Guidelines will play a pivotal role in translating the vision of #NEP2020 into action across the country’s schools, while strengthening community participation and shared responsibility in education. He called for SMCs to evolve into a people’s movement for improving educational outcomes.
