These are tricky times but your voice does not need company.
If you want to resist don’t burn energy recruiting choirs from those whose ambition drowns out their conscience.
No one should silence those who speak.
Equally, critics must not harangue those who will choose silence.
When KALRO and KEBS warn us there is aflotoxin-laced cereal in the country, and that it has cancer-causing agents, what do they want us, as consumers, to do?
Do we have the means to trace, mop up—and prosecute those selling— toxic grain?
Why does GoK stop at WARNING the public?😮💨
@GikuhiKennedy Actually, no. Your biggest mistake is imagining that because government does not care for people, no citizen should care enough to document the failures of the state.
(Apparently the social rule about indoor voices does not apply to flights… flights bearing excited touristy missionary types for whom social cues attending to the context of people and place are remote anthropology.🙉
This is going to be a long hour, so help me dear heavens)!😤
@MRigii Or GoK can spare citizens and the courts the cost and work of class action suits, find the culprits and initiate prosecution.
A government that refuses to protect its citizens is asking to have its head cut off.
“Tonight I celebrate my love for you
It seems the natural thing to do…”🎵🎶
🕊️Go well, Peabo Bryson, and thank you for the music.
May your ancestors receive you well in that “whole new world” called the hereafter🙏🏿🕊️🕯️ https://t.co/xlGsdz7qwk
It's the ideology of "youth" that's the problem. Even the way global capital talks about Africa, they keep saying what's unique about us is our youth population size. It's very creepy. Imperialism loves youth because it knows young people are not old enough to have a sense of history and impact. And they infantilize the youth. When Macron came, did he engage the youth as thinking, political actors? No. He was taking selfies with them, cooking, having dinner, lecturing them about keeping quiet.
I don't remember ever thinking of myself as "youth." But my students keep saying "as the youth..." and I ask them if they've ever considered that they will grow up.
Dear June,✨💫
Whatever you are about to birth, may it rewrite our story for the greater good…for the good of people of good will, generous hearts, and incisive minds that think beyond selfish ambition.

“…your dad, in just one shot, one moment, he could achieve what I think few athletes ever achieve. He could make people feel something. Almost like at a concert and there’s a perfect song, or at the movies and there’s a perfect line, and you have this feeling like, Oh my god.”
You don’t need to be a tennis buff to enjoy this amazing tribute to Gael Monfils as he plays his final @rolandgarros match.
It’s by his wife, Elina (also a tennis player)and it’s addressed to their 3-yr-old daughter, Skai.
