Let me get this straight.

A farmer spots hooded, masked men and three vans outside a US bomber base in the middle of the night.

Armed police. Major incident. 85 homes evacuated. A bomb-disposal robot. Two apparent controlled explosions. An 8km no-fly zone. A US Embassy security alert.

The President of the United States says they'd been watched for "a long time" and were out to do "big damage."

A day and a half later, all five are home on bail.

And the government's line is that the farmer who called it in only had a "partial picture."

This month’s Prime Minister Andy Burnham @andyburnham has just announced he’s increasing foreign aid to 0.7% of GDP, which is £21 billion per year. Let me put that in context for you. The average amount of income tax paid per year by basic rate taxpayers in the UK is £2,700. So that means that nearly 8 million taxpayers in the UK are working all year ONLY to give their wages to foreign governments. There are 30 million basic rate taxpayers in the UK, so one in four people that you see working in restaurants or pubs, nurses, cleaners and many more are paying all of their tax to foreign countries. Countries like Pakistan that can afford nuclear weapons, to India that can afford a space programme, to China that can afford to buy the world, to Somalia that doesn’t have a government, only warlords. Etc etc etc etc etc. One in eight British basic rate taxpayers are paying all of their money not to schools in this country. Not for hospitals in this country, nor to fix the roads, nor anything whatsoever in Britain. Every penny goes abroad. Eight million people here giving their hard earned money to the British government who then give every penny away. Every single penny. So, if you’ve ever wondered why things aren’t improving in this country and wonder what happens to the money you’ve made from your toil and your sleepless nights of wondering how you’ll pay the next bill, that’s what happens to it. 8 million of you are working for foreign governments. Think about that.

@AvonandsomerRob No the opposite - I wanted to buy a book that was £2 - as paying on card I asked them to round it up to £5 but they said their systems couldn’t cope with that! Happened another time on different shop/charity too they couldn’t take more even after o asked them 🤷‍♀️

Perhaps the most disturbing element in the fantasy world of (ex)-Professor Jason Arday is not his proclivity to embellish his achievements (or lack thereof) in absurd ways that were easily exposed or Cambridge University’s facile complicity in his whole scam but that a reporter at Times Higher Education, who was looking into anomalies in Mr Arday’s dodgy CV, was subjected to a four-month police investigation for allegedly harassing him. The police need to be held to account for this abuse of police power to thwart a journalist from doing his job.

Pausing the early release of prisoners ... which was a Labour policy
Reintroducing the £2 cap on bus fares ... which Labour scrapped
Restoring business rates relief to pubs and entertainment venues ... which were imposed by Labour

So, nothing of any net gain, just reversing some of the preexisting Labour shit.
