This is the most important week so far in the fight to keep the Save Our Bacon Act out of the Farm Bill.

The SOB Act is the pork industry’s attempt to wipe out state laws that protect pigs from extreme confinement.

This Thursday, we expect Iowa’s senators to try to add it during the Senate Agriculture Committee’s Farm Bill markup. We must stop this from happening.

Animals need you to call your senators TODAY at [phone] and tell your Senators to oppose the SOB Act and stop it from being included in the Farm Bill.

In Buddhism we understand that every action comes with a consequence. Due to my decision to stand up for my Jewish friends I am losing a few people from my life. The pork industry is losing its fight to keep gestation crates. So it's trying a new tactic: attack the messenger.

It just planted a hit piece in the NY Post attacking us for funding campaigns to ban crates, cages, and other cruel factory farming practices.

The article has two main sources: the Animal Agriculture Alliance and the so-called 'Center for the Environment and Welfare' — a front group for a DC PR firm.

The journalist is shocked that we receive funding from a Facebook co-founder — something we publicly disclose — but didn't ask his sources where they get their money from. (Answer: the pork industry.)

The article is a masterclass in how to defend an indefensible industry...
