In 2024, the city of Ottawa declared Nov 7 as Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial Day to recognize the contributions of Chinese workers on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
We join Ottawa & @ChineseRailroad in honouring this oft-forgotten #CanadianHistory.

Sunday on Checkup, we're revisiting an ongoing, important issue: how are Emergency Department wait times affecting you? Whether you're a patient, family member or work at a hospital, consider callinf or replying. In the last 45, we'll switch to bike lanes. Lots to talk about.
ER doc here: all Ontarians should ignore Premier Ford's wild statement on ER use. It's enshrined in our society that patients define emergencies. Not MDs. Not Premiers. We rely on the public's judgement. I am appalled by Premier Ford. @ColinDMello@fordnation@SylviaJonesMPP
An important message from Canada’s ER doctors that blaming patients for seeking ER care is never the answer and getting admitted patients up to the hospitals wards is always the answer. @CAEP_Docs
Reinforcing the message that patients should seek care in the Emergency Department whenever you feel our services are necessary. @CAEP_Docs@OntariosDoctors
It's time once again to remind everyone that emergency department (ED) crowding is not due to low acuity visits. ED crowding is due to hospital crowding and the inability to move admitted patients to the floors. Emergency Physicians can handle busy. It's crowding that kills.

My view as an ER doc in @HealthyDebate - beyond nihilistic headlines, much good goes unnoticed. A fulsome reality is there are successes leading to healthier and longer lives – even in my chaotic specialty part of Canada's publicly funded health system.

As of Dec 1 I’m taking a role with Ontario Public Service to chair a small but mighty team tasked with primary care reform, to make sure everyone in Ontario is attached to a family doctor or NP providing ongoing comprehensive care in a publicly funded team https://t.co/gdVpNYhZ3O
Canadian section of @EuropSocEM #EUSEM2024 meeting to discuss differences in nutritional requirements of EM physicians. Thanks to Dr. Mats Lindbergh at Sygehus Sønderjylland for the amazing tour of your ED!
