By blocking the sworn testimony of key witnesses, GOP senators just told America they are more interested in covering up the truth than finding it.

For the first time in our history, they blocked all witnesses in an impeachment trial.

There is no vindication in a sham trial.

Under the Senate rules, we can direct the Chief Justice to make the initial determination on witnesses and documents. Furthermore, the Constitution gives us the “sole Power to try all Impeachments.” By opposing my amendment, Republicans have shown they don’t want a fair trial.

The President’s defense team couldn’t answer my question on Bolton. It’s yet another reason we need to hear directly from Bolton himself. As I’ve said, the truth will come out one way or another. It’s up to Republicans to decide if they want to stand on the right side of history.
