Hey AB Parks, we’ve been camped at Cataract Creek for more than 24 hours and haven’t seen a conservation officer or even anyone selling wood………. This is in Kananaskis and is a campground with reserved sites.
I want to thank the almost 850 people who responded to our survey on the proposed water restrictions. Myself and Councillor Mike Jamieson ran similar surveys for each of our Wards, and below is a summary of what our Ward 14 survey returned.
- There is overwhelming opposition to the Water Efficiency Plan as currently proposed, with 88% of respondents indicating they oppose it and only 3% supporting it as written. Similarly, 85% believe the plan's estimated $354–$420 million cost is not a justifiable use of taxpayer dollars.
- The vast majority (90%) believe the City should fix its leaking infrastructure before imposing new water restrictions, and 87% do not support a permanent mandatory watering schedule. Additionally, 92% oppose granting the City authority to disconnect household water for schedule violations, and 85% do not support tiered water rates.
- Most respondents (87%) prefer education and voluntary conservation over mandatory restrictions with enforcement. There is also strong sentiment (92%) that the City did not conduct adequate public engagement before bringing the plan to Council.
Your feedback has been invaluable to ensuring our office represents you the best that we can. I remain committed to listening to the concerns and feedback of our residents and will not be supporting these measures.

I recently flew Westjet from YYC to YVR (thankfully, a short flight), and it was so uncomfortable. Not sure if it was one of the reconfigured planes or not. I’m 5’5” and had zero leg room, couldn’t grab my purse from the floor or take my coat off. I had a window seat.
