@JenVarelaLCSWs @Grits4Breakfast Likely true. But I don’t know that equates to simply no longer arresting/prosecuting. Maybe it does? Maybe it should? I just don’t know. It’s not an area I’ve really studied. Maybe drugs should be treated more like alcohol. Crime,arrest when use hurts someone? Idk...
@JenVarelaLCSWs @Grits4Breakfast Also likely because minority areas are overpoliced - especially in narcotics. War on drugs was a bad idea. But completely ignoring drugs is equally bad. We need better solutions
@JenVarelaLCSWs @Grits4Breakfast Good data. Not saying it is necessarily incorrect data, but “race” for court data is flawed. If the police officer doesn’t enter race it’s auto converted to unknown. Each agency uses different codes. And it’s all manual data entry leading to error. Likely small % error admittedly
