@BlueDart_@BlueDartCares My package was due 5th June and you've repeatedly marked it "consignee not available" - except I've received ZERO calls. Now when I call you, I'm told you don't even have a truck to deliver it? What's the update here?
After the hailstorm in Bangalore’s central business district last evening, thousands of books — rare, new and used — that were priceless, went under water at BOOKWORM on Church Street.
This morning when we went there, Salman Rushdie, William Dalrymple, Arundhati Roy, Orhan Pamuk, Deve Gowda, Jeet Thayil, Sudha Murty, James Thurber, Arvind Adiga, Bhanu Mushtaq, Indra Nooyi, Marquez, Steve Jobs, Mani Ratnam, VR Ferose, Wendy Doniger, Edwina Mountbatten, Gurucharan Das, Veerappan and Hitler among hundreds of others, were all drying in the sun together. They nearly drowned yesterday. (books by or on them😊). They all have to get back into the store before another spell of rain that has been predicted this evening.
Water has seeped into some rare prints and paintings too. Autographed copies of Dalrymple’s books, Arundhati Roy’s memoirs and the Deve Gowda biography have been among those badly damaged. Krishna and Uma, the owners of the store are struggling to manage the crisis. They are being supported by reader-volunteers and friends from the book industry. Was happy to see Ravi Menezes, owner of Goobeys another bookstore at another end of Church Street, also present to offer help and express solidarity.

Mistakes happen. As a team, the important thing is to recognize it’s never an individuals’s fault — it’s the process, the culture, or the infra.
In this case, there was a manual deploy step that should have been better automated. Our team has made a few improvements to the automation for next time, a couple more on the way.
Logitech forgot to renew a certificate so its macOS apps for its mice are broken. Windows users are unaffected. A fix is available for G Hub and Options+ on macOS, but it has to be manually applied 🥲 https://t.co/294dqJGCMQ
I am a foodie & being a foodie isn’t an easy job. You’ve to be open to new food experiences which may or may not ‘hit the spot’. When the food does hit the spot, you’ve to give a little place in your heart to that restaurant & hope they never do anything to make you vacate it.
I love trying new restaurants and there seem to be a new one opening almost every day in Bangalore. Recently, I visited Kopitiam Lah, probably the only Malaysian restaurant in the city, and easily one of the best. The food is outstanding! Bold flavours, beautifully balanced dishes, and that comforting warmth you only get when someone cooks with real heart. Their Kaya Toast, Nasi Lemak and Rendang are the kind of dishes that transport you to a different culture but stay with you long after the meal is over.
I also happened to bump into Chef @VineshJohny , the Co-founder of Kopitiam Lah, Lavonne Academy of Baking Science & Culinary Arts (@lavonneindia) and Lick Ice Cream. All three are fabulous concepts, each best in class in their category!
While chatting, Vinesh shared how during Covid, when Lavonne Academy was struggling to navigate closures, they decided to take their classes online. The classes were a runaway success (and still are!), but accepting payments from students across India and abroad was a completely different challenge.
That’s where Razorpay stepped in, helping them set up quickly and accept payments seamlessly during a very tough period. They managed to continue paying their staff throughout Covid closures due to their online classes. Stories like these, of how Razorpay supports entrepreneurs when they need it most, will never get old for me.
Entrepreneurs like Vinesh epitomise the journey of founders, working hard, rolling with the punches, keep going in spite of what life throws at them and create fantastic products.
And what better compliment to him than Kopitiam Lah being featured in the Top 50 restaurants of India. Hard work shows and for founders like him, it’s visible in everything they create.
If you ever stop by Lick Ice Cream late at night, you’ll know exactly what I mean! You’ll find a long queue wrapped around the building, even at midnight. That’s the kind of love and loyalty great food inspires.
