It takes a hardened heart to witness or do the cut: two women pin the girl's legs while a 3rd holds her upper body from behind.
The circumciser then starts work with a blade/knife to cut off the girl's clitoris and/or the inner and outer labia!

@jobbeefitng @thegirdlengr Don't mind her, she has no excuse. I didn't learn most things I know now from my house, I was sensible enough to pick the ones I felt were useful and dropped others. Likewise in the outside world, you don't need a formal education to know this.

In a month, about 100 girls are brought to Halima Hirsi (the manager of the clinic, who also performs the procedure).
She works with Abdilatif Ali (a broker or middle man) who acts as a gateway to the clinic.
People pay him to identify secret clinics to mutilate young girls!

#FGM is performed on the 7th day among the Ishan and Aboh tribes BUT it can occur at the time of marriage or during the 1st pregnancy.
They believe that it aids the safe delivery of the baby by protecting it from contact with the "lethal" clitoris during delivery.

Every 90 seconds, a woman dies during childbirth.
#FGM is fatal and can cause complications during childbirth.
Aside the risk of damage to the vagina, labour can be obstructed and if early medical intervention is not given, it can lead to the death of baby or mother🤦🏽‍♀️!

This is 2020 but in Sudan and some countries, it is a common practice to have most of the vaginal opening sewn up after each childbirth.
Culture brainwashes women that reinfibulation (sew up again) will make them look "neat and tight again" for their husbands🤦🏽‍♀️!

A 'mass circumcision event' was just held in Indonesia with incentives of a goodie bag with Rp200,000 ($14.57) and snacks for any girl that is cut.
Parents rushed their girls to the event: roughly 150 girls (aged 3 months to 11 years old) were mutilated!
