@MightyMoosDef@MikeConnollyMA@EastSomerville Here, here! @MikeConnollyMA is one of the best reps I've ever know - he pushes the debate forward, builds coalitions to achieve real change, and is always there for his constituents (but also... there's a Cocktail Club? Can I come?)
My experience is that @MikeConnollyMA is a great, principled representative. He shows up, listens, thinks, connects people, forms alliances, and works hard for effective change.
I'm not DSA. This isn't my fight. But voting to expel this guy? For these reasons? Not a great look.
A little weird tho that a private business CAN choose to DENY a customer because he/she is a member of a protected class, but a private university CANNOT choose to ACCEPT a customer because he/she is a member of a protected class.
We are pleased to welcome John Carlson to CATF! John joins our U.S. state policy team, where he will work to ensure the effective implementation of federal funding and state climate policies in the Northeast: https://t.co/Wu3dOR5G6V
@MikeConnollyMA Thank you Rep! The community appreciates how you kept pushing to get this project finished. I almost can't believe it's finally happening. I'll be able to safely bike my toddler from our house to my sister's for the first time 🚴♂️
@EEASecretary@MassGovernor Great work @EEASecretary grid upgrades are one of the next big challenges we must tackle. Excited to see the results of the Grid Mod Council too.
🧵We're thrilled to announce our 2023 BICEP Award winners. Each award recognizes a company, a business leader or a lawmaker who went above and beyond to publicly and effectively advocate for a federal or state climate, energy or transportation measure.

2/ in terms of predicting the court's actions is basically a distraction. The question is whether the White House could place the Court in a position in which its political goals were in conflict with its self-interest. Specifically, is the Court willing to be responsible for ...
I know we’re talking power plants today, but this program needs more love. A decade ago when we were writing the @CityMinneapolis Climate Action Plan, the idea that metros and states could get millions for planning, and billions for implementation, was an absolute fantasy.
Ceres is pleased to join businesses, advocates, labor unions, and health leaders in calling on New Jersey @GovMurphy to move now toward adopting the Advanced Clean Cars II rule so New Jersey can reap the clean air, climate, and economic benefits of clean vehicles ASAP!
I'm sorry, but when you explicitly say the goal of your *government ban* is to artificially boost a favored industry, you're not allowed to make the next sentence about free market responsibilities and fiduciary duty. https://t.co/0liXo6Pqmc
Yesterday, the Somerville legislative delegation met with Bill Ferrari, Acting Program Manager for the GLX project, to discuss the status of the Community Path Extension and other "punch list" items on the Green Line Extension Project. The MBTA recently announced a mid-June grand opening is being targeted for the community path. For my part, I let the MBTA know they've done a poor job in recent weeks in terms of communicating with our community regarding the remaining work on the project. To our community, it looks like the path is fully completed and is just sitting dormant — but as we saw in yesterday's presentation, there's still some significant work to be done, much of it pertaining to safety and accessibility.
Below are two pics from the elevated portion of the path that passes over the Fitchburg Main Lain circa Brickbottom. The first pic on the left shows a joint that needs filling with an asphaltic joint filler that is temperature dependent and has been on hold pending warmer temperatures. This work is expected to be completed "in the next month or so" — the second pic shows a section of the path that was "subject to some redesign and reprocurement" and has yet to have lighting fixtures installed, and they must coordinate track access to make this happen.
For context, I think it's important to recognize the addition of the community path extension to the GLX Project was a huge win for our community. After all, when Governor Baker pulled the plug on the GLX circa 2016, he pulled the community path out of the scope of the project. Our community rallied to demand that it be put back in, and we were successful in the face of ongoing austerity. So while it is frustrating for us to be enduring several more weeks of delays, in the grand scheme of things, I remain excited that this wonderful new amenity will open soon. (I may add a few more pics to this thread...)

We were pleased to host a roundtable discussion with Massachusetts businesses and state leaders on how we can work together to tackle the climate crisis and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Thanks to @EEASecretary@senatorbarrett and @jeffroy for joining us!
At a panel discussion this morning sponsored by Ceres, the national leader in private sector sustainability, I like to think I provided a glowing intro for my energy and climate committee co-chair, State Rep. Jeff Roy.
An invigorating conversation, you can feel the excitement and possibility. The new admin of Gov. Healey, legislative champs in @senatorbarrett & @jeffroy, and new resources from the IRA and IIJA. We're at a climate action inflection point and I'm as optimistic as I've ever been.
A fantastic morning talking w/ @EEASecretary, @senatorbarrett & @jeffroy about how the Administration & legislature will work together to tackle the #climatecrisis. @CeresNews & our members are eager to partner with you to make net zero emissions by 2050 a reality 🌎💪🔌⚡️🛻🏡🌆
