Tonight Governor Abbott is delivering the Texas State of the State address to invited guests that have been asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement and are prohibited from having cell phones.
Reporters are banned.
This is what one-party rule looks like.
Norfolk Southern cut 9,600 jobs and boosted shareholder payouts by 4,500% in the years leading up to the Ohio train disaster.
Folks, this is what corporate greed looks like.
Wow. A new bill in Texas literally would ban putting polling places on college campuses. Gen Z prevented a red wave in 2022 and now Republicans are doing everything they can to suppress our right to vote. Republicans are going to regret this in 2024.
I'm so angry — House Republicans have introduced legislation to repeal the $35/month cap on insulin that Democrats passed for seniors on Medicare.
I need you to retweet and spread the word about this. Every voter needs to know.
The House report on IRS not auditing Trump left unanswered whether the “mandatory” presidential audit program was generally broken or Trump got special treatment. Turns out Obama got audited all 8 years & Biden’s already been audited twice. W/ @arappeport https://t.co/LpDJGbOSA8
The President of a Country, living in a bunker, risks his life to come before congress and more than half the Republican Congress can’t leave their ivory towers or the local bar and show up to show even a morsel of respect. Disgraceful
Not many know this about Rand Paul. Less than 3 months after Russia invaded Ukraine, Paul was the lone Senator to block a $40 billion care package to Ukraine. As innocent children suffered, Paul’s vote would deny them of critical aide. Late night read https://t.co/4EtHBO6PhL
ExxonMobil raked in $20 billion in profits last quarter and has announced $50 billion in stock buybacks. Folks, corporate greed is a main driver of inflation -- not government spending.
You can’t make this up: New unearthed footage shows Krysten Sinema chastising then-Senator Joe Lieberman for doing *exactly* what she just did, and depriving Democrats of much a needed vote.
Spread her shame. https://t.co/wz4DWLq30f
Members of Congress have unlimited paid sick days.
But Republicans just filibustered a Democratic bill that would give rail workers just SEVEN days of paid sick leave. Think about that.
The same Republicans who decided to work ONLY 108 days in next year’s legislative session just filibustered a bill that would give rail workers 7 days of paid sick leave.
The GOP is NOT the party of working people.
Railroads made $21 billion in profits in the first 9 months of 2022.
Guaranteeing 7 paid sick days to rail workers would cost the industry $321 million/year.
That's just 1.5% of those profits.
Congress just rejected sick leave for these workers.
It's profits over everything.
