The latest Mothers and babies report is out for Australia&the news just gets worse. Caesrean section rate is now 36%, induction 35%, 1 in 4 mothers have an episiotomy, no change in perinatal mortality rates since 2000. What the hell are we doing? #ENOUGH https://t.co/mbv5NC1CPi
@birthsmalltalk@dean_deanhough @FlorenceDarlin1 @hannahdahlen As a midwife I see this far too often in Private maternity care in NSW. Women should be given a chance to labour naturally, rather it seems more ‘convenient’ to opt for surgical intervention or cesars despite lack of supporting evidence.
Great to see such a positive article on homebirth and well done Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney on achieving the 100th homebirth. Homebirth hospital program delivers babies safely and with less intervention, data shows https://t.co/wSvQPyuj4W
