A big part of the ridiculous and embarrassing questioning directed towards Francesca Albanese at the @PressClubAust yesterday was due to blatant misogyny.

Australia is so steeped in a generalised hatred and derision of women the media also constantly buy into this, forever expecting highly-qualified women to bow down to their ridiculous questions and superior male intellect instead of calling out their gob-smacking lack of preparation and ability to think.

Watching a woman who hasn’t been raised to act in a subservient and obsequious way (as Australian women are) refuse to engage with your little-boy bullshit is refreshing and educational.

We’d say it’s a model for all Aussie women to follow except we all know how it ends in this racist, sexist backwater for strong, give-no-fucks women when they try to stand up to the way most men here routinely treat them (and get away with because all our systems are also owned and run by similar sexist men).

Yet if all women can take a little bravery and learning from Ms. Albanese’s masterclass in intelligence, grace and quiet yet deadly derision, all women here will be so much better off.

And to these Aussie media men (including and perhaps especially those who call themselves progressive): grow up and stop acting like women will put up with any old rubbish you decide is somehow clever.

You’re not fit to shine her fucking shoes let alone expect her to engage with your abjectly hateful and grossly inadequate word salads.

You’re a pack of man-child arseholes acting like you’re losing the Year 12 debate at your woman-hating private school instead of adult fucking professionals, and it shows.

Grow up or fuck off.
