Iโve really stepped up my productivity this year. Two of the tools that really help are Fedica & Cold Turkey. I use Fedica to post to my socials, just like this; without logging in. And cold turkey maintains a list of sites Iโd normally waste time on, and blocks them when working
Someone recommended Need For Speed (2014) to me a while back, so I grabbed a copy. I enjoyed the game, but the movie passed me by. Iโm an hour in and itโs surprisingly good! Very good in fact.
I'm back, and this time with beer. I'm tired of bouncing around all the other platforms, trying to keep up with those who have moved to bsky, threads, mastodon, nostr etc. The there is the cross posting. URGH! So I'm coming back to an account I've had since 2008. KISS
I installed Instagram having not been on it for months. Instantly felt icky and felt the pinball effect in my brain starting to return. Tapping out again. Does anyone else feel this? #socialmedia#instagram#algorithms#neurospicy
@Revolvermag 10,000 Days (Wings for Marie part. 2). I saw them three times touring this album in 2006, including Download Festival. I was a huge fan before 10,000 days, but this album felt almost spiritual. So powerful.
Iโve reset the dictionary and tried all sorts. Last week, I disabled apple intelligence. Don't ask me why, but my typing is fast & accurate again. Result!
Like a lot of people, I've been having major issues with typing in iOS 26. The last update was meant to address some of it, but I still feel like Iโm forever hitting backspace and retyping over & over.
..fractured and AI is destroying the indie web and the everyday people setting up their own websites and servers. It has become so commercial and the collaborative promise of that early internet is gone. I honestly think we peaked in 2006 in that pre smartphone/socials era.
As someone who has been connected to some form of internet via a modem right back to 1994 with BBS when I was a kid, I feel like the current era is past peak internet. Social media is making everything a bit shitty, work is now called content and markets furiously, community is..
Had to get up early this morning to get @LTBeautyBlog to a medical appointment. We have both been running our own business for almost two decades, and we never wake up early or with an alarm; so this is weird. Making the most of it with some NBA Jam TE while I wait. #retrogaming
I absolutely loved my minidisc player. And the process of making discs from CD over optical cable from my stereo. One of the best tech items I ever owned. I even liked the inline controller on the headphones with track skip dial and information screen.
Ok. Cloudflare switched off for 24 hours on my server. Only took the bastards that long to see our open server, and brute force the hell out of it. They didnโt get in, itโs secure, but it was enough to max out resources and effectively DDOS the server for 2 hours. Re-enabled CF.
It would seem that after the fragmentation to mastodon/bsky/threads - everyone is starting to come back to X due to network effect. I havenโt logged in here consistently for years, but I have missed the community that developed over here and the real time nature/simplicity.
