It’s always irritating to write a check to the IRS, but it’s exponentially more so after @elonmusk and DOGE exposed so much waste, abuse and outright fraud in our government. Appreciate they’ve uncovered it, but stroking the check leaves an especially bitter taste this year.

The damage being done under the hood in factors all suggests this is a large deleveraging happening. Until we see the % of SPX down to levels of other important deleveraging lows, this is likely to continue until we see policy clarity. Oversold at index level but not breadth.

We had a great member appreciation luncheon last month. I shared my hypothesis on DOGE being the first major skirmish of AI use in government. Regardless of stances on specific actions DOGE has taken, we should expect more in the future.
