Honored to join leaders at Fort McNair as @SecWar shared his cogent Arsenal of Freedom vision—streamline the process, accept calculated risk, and accelerate game-changing tech to the field.
@jobyaviation is proud to play our part.
I’m grateful to @POTUS, @SecDuffy, @USDOT and @FAANews for continuing to champion U.S. innovation and for the foresight they’ve shown in bringing these rules forward. I’m incredibly excited about what comes next and I’m confident that, even if we can’t see it right now, we’re already in the next golden age of aviation.
Around a decade ago, the FAA modernized its rules to create a path for the modern commercial air taxi industry - a move that ensured companies like @jobyaviation could lead the world in the adoption of new ways of flying that are faster, cleaner and quieter than ever before.
We’ve built the team and the technology, the platform and the software, that will enable us to move as rapidly as these rules develop. We’re also excited about the potential for this to create a whole new generation of pilots and mechanics to support the air taxi industry as it scales.
@FAANews MOSAIC has been signed! I expect this to be the most important accelerant to aviation innovation in my career, and it’s a huge moment for aviation in the U.S. Here’s why:

So grateful to King Charles III for his incredible leadership in highlighting the criticality of zero emissions aviation technology development. Today's groundbreaking at the @WhittleLab was the next step in a journey that has seen His Majesty play a key role in creating the 1/
Target True Zero campaign with @wef, in partnership with @Cambridge_Uni@whittlelab and the global aviation community. This important work will help deliver next generation zero emissions technologies as well as tools that help global policy makers model and visualize the full 2/
Air travel is our safest, fastest, and lowest cost mode of transportation, but unfortunately is also the most harmful to our planet. The United States must invest to accelerate the transition to zero-emissions electric and hydrogen-electric aircraft.

Transitioning the aviation industry to clean aircraft is going to be extremely difficult and will take decades. But we must get this done, and we must fully solve the problem instead of settling for half-measures. 8/
Air travel is our fastest, safest, and lowest cost mode of transport. As a result, passenger kilometers flown has roughly doubled each decade for the past 50 years.
But this freedom of movement comes with a cost. https://t.co/aXszSn1IvT 1/
We’ve been thoughtful in the design of our aircraft and battery systems to maximize their lifetime and minimize the lifecycle carbon footprint of each flight. We will continue to evaluate our environmental footprint as we grow and will take action to reduce it wherever we can. 7/
