After over eight years of spending every second together, my service dog Ruby passed last week. It's been one of the top 5 hardest events of my life and truly changed everything.
This week, it's important for publishers to consider how they are building relationships with readers just like it's important for readers to consider who is pocketing their cash. https://t.co/WlrpgZYarD w/ homie @CasieDodd
@AGoldmund Okay, but for real, you know that 99% of your followers are here for this, right? Like, THIS is why we follow you? We want you to infotain us!
@Microcosmmm I thought we laid off the AI wing of employees back on April Fool's Day? Well, now that I'm learning that we are THE UNCONVENTIONAL BRAND OF DELIGHTFUL CONVERSATION STARTS, I'm thinking we need to fire them again.
Really incredible to be selected as a "10 best books on writing and publishing" from @BookRiot after I spent the past few months overhauling this book for an even better new edition. https://t.co/3A2rSj8Yzb
I used to see artists complain about maintaining their digital archive of work and thought "Ha! I'm so organized!" Twenty years later, it's "How do I not possibly have a single digital copy of this? Was the only copy stolen during my home break-in?" #publishinglife
It happens all the time. One of our distributed pubs got in touch, horrified and terrified that MacMillan had just pubbed the same book that she did the week before. She thought it would cannibalize her sales. Many authors and publishers keep this stuff close to the chest. Not us
@Autistic_Lia In DEI training, I was asked to dispel a stereotype about myself. In response, an allistic woman monologued about how she doesn't know "where on the spectrum people are and how 'capable' we are." Has worked with autistic people. I'd reframe the whole thing as coping skills.
I am “invited” to meet about 50 times per day. Someday, I want to do a performance project where I take every meeting proposed to me for one month and write about the results. "Excuse me, I have another meeting."
