@RonnieCPA@ErikSlater_ Would still have to match the salary. MPJ doesn't do it alone but yeah probably could have gotten it done for below their asking price.
@bana2166@ErikSlater_@BrooklynNets Money doesn't match so they would have had to add another player or two. If they still had Claxton that probably would have made it work from a financial standpoint but Celtics were saying they wanted 4 first rounders just days ago. Things change quickly.
@FreetheTruth17@ErikSlater_ I'd take him back. We could use a steady presence at point guard to help mentor the young guys. Plus Traore is already hurt.
@will_nba_hater@ErikSlater_ True. And if we are paying our starting center 10 mil a year I don't really think we ought to pay someone $20 million to come off the bench. I think a low cost big who can rebound and defend would be fine. Someone like Micah Potter, Nick Richards, or Christian Koloko maybe?
@FlackoJODE79754@SleeperNets Yeah, but Veesar didn't get picked until 52 it's not like they just missed him. Maybe they should have taken him at 48 but I like the Jefferson pick. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@bklnfin3st@SleeperNets Exactly, most reactions I have seen have been positive, some even suggesting it was a steal. The only criticism I have seen is that some felt they should have taken a center at that spot.
@its_m7md24@ErikSlater_ Agbaji is already a free agent. Mann has 2 more years on his contract so it would not make sense to waive him. I suspect they will try to trade him at some point though.
@Blyzzard211@ErikSlater_ I think they probably thought their big men needs would be better addressed through trades or free agency. Bilodeau is going to be on a 2 way so he won't take up a traditional roster spot.
@BillyReinhardt The trouble with Ament is that there are times when he looks like the best player on the floor and then there are times when you wonder if he's ever played the game of basketball. Not saying he won't figure it out but I'm not sure it's worth the gamble.
@DPasq15@_k_3424 Lucas Kaplan said on the Locked on Nets pod yesterday that if they swapped their place in the standings from last year with their place in the standings this year they would have had the 4th pick last year and the 3rd this year. The depressing reality of the lottery.
@ErikSlater_ So I checked about 7 Mock drafts post lottery and I think it was something like 4 for Acuff, 2 for Flemings, and 1 for Wagler but it looks like most mocks have Wagler picked at 5.
@ErikSlater_@LockedOnNets As you mentioned on your last pod, size is a big need. If we fall out of the top 4, is there any big that you think would be worth taking in the 5-7 range? That area of the draft seems very guard heavy.
