@karmagitya State Parks are public and had fire restrictions in place. That’s really the extent of what they need to and are capable of doing. It’s illogical to think they should need to close every State Park in Oregon, at least Western OR, every time we have red flag warnings.

@karmagitya Agree to disagree. Power co is a private entity(at risk of being sued if their equipment cause a fire) and effected the black outs in strategic locations due to high winds. And it worked.

@karmagitya You make closing a State Park sound like a simple thing. It’s not. And I do live here. I was supposed to play disc golf at Milo on Sunday. There were fire restrictions in place; it’s the fools who don’t follow rules that caused the problem.

@karmagitya Also, the fire was at the entrance to the park and not in the campgrounds. Not so sure a camper was the cause here; well, not a person camping at the park in a campground anyway. Maybe an unsanctioned “camper”.

Estacada Fire has confirmed at least one home and one barn were destroyed in the Milo McIver Fire. Luckily, fire crews say no residents were injured and some Level 3 Evacuations have been now been reduced @KOINNews
