A big part of the problem with Nigeria is that, instead of fixing our problems, everyone is trying to make enough money so that the problems won't affect them. 🧏🏾♂️
Some of us will never experience what it feels like having 200M Naira in our bank accounts.
Small 200k in your account , you are already looking for who to rescue from poverty.
Here’s a piece of unsolicited advice for Men with money entering relationships:
A lot of your relationships fail because you started with an unsustainable version of you. Sometimes when we love someone, we try to secure that love through too much effort, attention, gifts, or availability too early.
“You can kill a new plant by watering it too much.”
The problem with doing too much too early is that your initial effort becomes the standard. A relationship that starts at 100 has nowhere natural to grow.
When you give too much too early, the relationship skips the stage where you 2 gradually learn to love each other in a realistic way. Your effort becomes your identity in the relationship.
So when you reduce that effort later, it feels like less love to the other person whereas you’re just dealing with life.
When you have money, it’s tempting to do too much too early. But it’s usually a bad idea even if you can afford it.
At 24 hours of fasting, autophagy begins. At 36 hours, it triples. At 72 hours, it maxes out.
If you have never fasted past a single meal skip, your body has never run its own cleanup cycle. Not once. Not in years.
The heart fat, the visceral fat, the dead tissue — it is all still there because you never gave your body permission to burn it.
You need to fast, and you need to make it a habit.
Sometimes I wonder how people without female children cope.
I just called home and my mom was complaining bitterly 😂😂
She sent my brother to the market to get groceries for her and he almost called her to glory.
You know the crazy thing he did?
She included sweet corn on the list of items she needed, and he bought roasted corn on his way back home.
He said the corn was sweet when he tasted it and decided to buy 7.
So she should start peeling roasted corn from it cobs to make fried rice?? I laughed until my jaw started paining me
Life hack:
It's good for your mental health to always have someone that is always happy to see you.
If you don't have someone, get a pet that is always excited to see you.
You need to feel what it means to matter.
A lot of people say they don't owe anyone anything but i cannot say the same for myself.
Too many hands have lifted me. A lot of people held it down for me and made sacrifices to make sure i had mu head above water.
So many hands were there to support me when i had my back up against the wall.
All i can wish for is to be able to return the favour when the time comes.
I want to be rich. But not Lamborghini
or Rolex rich, I want to be rich enough to go to the gym at 3pm and nobody can tell me no. To tap the family in front of me at the supermarket and say, "It's on me," Rich enough that my future wife never has to worry about getting a job. Rich enough to show my children the world, not pictures of it. Rich enough to take my friends to dinner and say, "| got this", Rich enough that God uses me to help the people who are in need. That's my version of rich.
Nigeria has more churches per square kilometer than hospitals.
We have more pastors than doctors.
We are statistically one of the most religious nations on earth.
We have 5 of the biggest churches by capacity on earth.
We are also one of the most hungry, most poor, most suffering. We have been binding and casting for 60 years.
But the poverty is still here. The government corruption is still here.
The bad roads are still here. NEPA with its inability to provide light is still here.
The double digit inflation is still here. The worsening insecurity ravaging the country is still here.
My question is:
Why is the most religious, and most prayerful country in the world keeps producing the most preventable suffering?
Bottom line:
we can’t pray and bind our way out of suffering.
