In 2022, I restarted my acting career after a 17-year hiatus — this time, with a disability. I was searching for connection and community in the industry — people who understood both the challenges and the wins. Enter the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge led by @nicnovicki and @MiaSchaikewitz — a game-changer. I found inspiration, purpose, and a community that truly lifts each other up. Huge thanks to my friend @dannyjgomez504 , who brought me into his film THE DEADLINE and showed me firsthand what this community is all about — collaboration, not competition. If media is meant to entertain, educate, and inspire, it can’t do that fully without authentic representation from people with disabilities. We’re not just telling stories — we are the stories, and we’re rising together.”
