I so appreciate the work these people do and their engagement, but it's just wasted effort on folks like us who are engaged, who vote every election, who have communicated that to every campaign member we talk to.

There needs to be a better way to tell campaigns that you're voting for their candidate, that you have a plan, and that they don't need to come to your house at dinner time and interrupt your family dinner. I told the last guy. I told the person texting me. Who else do I tell?

I recommend going fishing alone. Don't take photos. Don't share or post. Just be present - the click of the bail, the soft whir of the reel, and (if you're lucky) the sound of a fish breaking the surface. Reconnect through that electric living tug on the end of your line. Yes!

I recommend unplugging and doing something that brings you joy (for me it's gardening, a hike, or fishing - active & outdoors).
