@richardfomnyc@TheCousinSal I think the argument was more about the arbitrary timing rules at the end of games than it was about millimeters and offsides calls.
@ScoringChanges@Cubs Holy shit Cubs fans. Hate the rule all you want, it doesn't mean the umpires or anyone breaking down why it was called is wrong. He was out. There was no obstruction. You sound whiny as fuck for a team that just took 3 of the first 4 games of the series.
@216SportsRes@crev99@ScoringChanges Yea a fielder can throw to any base but FC is a batters definition not a runners Harper could have advanced to 3rd OTT but not by FC
Here he was likely safe because of the throw home but his intention was to go to 3rd no matter what which is why he didnt advance OTT & gets a 3B
@harbs16@crev99@ScoringChanges Yes a runner can advance because a batter is credited with a fielders choice, but the advancement of that runner isn't "fielder's choice", he just advances on the groundout. It's a batter's definition, not a baserunners. And once a batter reaches 1st, he turns into a baserunner
@Fish7718@kc_dos_siete@j_nothdurft Unless Turner drops the ball, what's the error that allows him to reach 2nd? A throw slightly to the other side of the bag with Soto making a wild slide in safely isn't an error.
@ScoringChanges For the 2B crowd, if you credit a 2B, how does he advance to 3rd? He's clearly headed towards 3rd before the throw home, so he's not "advancing on the throw". It's not a FC, because a FC is how a batter reaches base, it's not how a runner advances. This isnt hard. Context matters
@Lumpia_Doncic@StevePopper Not only that, while it wasnt a fantastic look, it was still an okay look that was on line. He dribbles out instead with 5 seconds left, theres no guarantee of a better look or a 2nd chance scoring opportunity.
@KnicksMuse Here's why I give him the benefit of the doubt. OG didn't move to protect himself. If Wemby really wanted to take him out, he wouldn't have missed.
@MOGUALR@michaelgbaron@LindaSurovich Myers and the team said his limit right now is 35-40 pitches. Likely 2 innings max unless he has a very quick one. Let's call this what it is, it's a bullpen game.
@ScoringChanges@Dodgers@BlueJays This is pretty basic stuff. You need to account for him reaching 1st in some way. Idk what program the MLB uses, but how does just entering a sacrifice bunt on Freeland put him on first?
