It’s that type of content which qualms all fears about the future of journalism…

@TynesideTiger All we ask for is consistency and clarity from officials, but it has to be said that the level of the officials in this league is very poor. VAR’s ‘clear and obvious’ line seems to be leaving more grey area than certainty and poor officials aren’t helping.

[Joe James @joejames0601]

@TynesideTiger Fair if that’s the case, not even sure what the rules are anymore, seems like the officials are the same. Officials shouldn’t be the major talking points in games like these. I think if a yellow is given, it doesn’t get overturned by VAR for a red.

[Joe James @joejames0601]

The Mason Greenwood case has been handled shamefully; breaching bail conditions, club not consulting domestic violence charities, spineless PR.

Right decision now made, thanks to public pushback and great journalism.

Utd have let down fans and victims across the globe.

[Joe James @joejames0601]

If this is the new threshold for a red card, we might as well make it a non-contact sport.

Would never have guessed who’s on VAR today…

[The Anfield Wrap @TheAnfieldWrap]

Did we have VAR at the game today?
