On May 13, 2026, at approximately 9:15 AM, there will be an honorable transfer for Warden Pilot Tibbetts from Hospital St. in Augusta to Main St. in Newport. Please expect traffic delays in between the two locations, specifically on I-95.

The public can expect to see a large presence of emergency vehicles in the procession itself and along I-95 to render honors. The State Police politely asks that no member of the public stop along I-95 to render honors due to safety concerns.

Today is a very special day for our sister City of Brewer and for one special bangor resident. Police officer and Bangor homeowner and resident is being sworn in today.

Christopher Martin will become the new Director of Public Safety in Brewer and there could not be a better person for the job. Ive know Chris for many years. He is dogged and committed public servant, he is a person of both common sense and compassion and has the qualities and leadership ability to do a great job.

Thank you to Brewer Mayor Michell Labree Daniels for agreeing to read my congratulations at today's ceremony and Best wishes on a wonderful day.
