We live in an age where every single day you can read a book you’ve never read before, possibly never heard of, and think, ‘that might be the best book I’ve ever read’, and then read another book, and have precisely the same thought. There are so many astonishing books out there.
Just began a conversation with the words “Because of the nature of parmesan,” and now my children will be taking the piss out of me until the day I die.
@RachelMoiselle This is wonderful. My university years were dominated by my love of Joyce, Ulysses in particular. And to have worked on *that* movie, Huston’s final film, starring his daughter…surely any casting director’s dream.
@TrevorWoodWrite@northern_crime@bookanista Huge congratulations. Just finished the audiobook and loved it. Every one of your books brings something unexpected to the crime table, something different each time, but always with heart, and without getting in the way of a bloody* compelling read.

Do I have any followers with expertise on England shortly post Norman conquest - 1080s-1100?
Bonus marks for expertise on charters granted to religious houses or anything linked to the Curthose and/or the First Crusade, but biggest bonus points for anything about Odo of Bayeux.
@MarcGoldberg111 Absolutely zero doubt that Miller is a far right activist masquerading as being on the left because it’s an easier grift. At least this time he remembered to mention Zionism, rather than just delivering his usual rant about how unduly powerful British Jews are.
@daverich1@MarcGoldberg111 I don’t know why you’re correcting yourself here. Miller is without doubt a far right neo-Nazi. He can just make more money and exert more influence by pretending to be a far-left “anti-Zionist” and fooling the world’s most gullible people.
@richimedhurst Why lie as obviously as this? Nobody believes you. There are other liars who are pretending to believe you, but they’re not fooling anyone.
Would be grateful for a RT. My daughter was not a celebrity, she was just a normal individual who unfortunately died from a brain cancer. I'm trying to raise awareness of glioblastoma, a grade 4 tumour that took her at the age of 19 yrs 5 days.
With thanks (Charlotte's mother)

Brilliant eye-opening interview with Stosie here. Pleased to have squeezed in a meal at Weezos before its demise and to have been semi-regulars during those early @parkersarms years (and of course since).
