@AmericanGwyn Great thread. Have you read "Martin Eden" by Jack London, his semi-autobiographical novel about his efforts to be a writer by selling stories? It will be eerily familiar. Nothing has changed in 100 years.
Stephen Sondheim’s long-in-the-works final musical, “Here We Are,” will be staged in New York this fall. The musical is inspired by two Luis Buñuel films, and Sondheim described it as unfinished just days before his death in 2021. https://t.co/vbaMDfQfLl
Thanks to @QuLitMag for publishing my story "the deadlands". Justine returns home after her mother's accidental death - but was the death the accident that it seems? You can read a preview online. There's some acting theory to delight my acting friends.

Everyone will talk about Beauty and the Beast but, for me, #angelalansbury will eternally be the definitive Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. A true icon.

An interview with Stephen Sondheim, conducted over the last five years of his life, about his philosophy of art, the relationship between book writer and lyricist, and the subtle compositional flourishes in his songs that “nobody has ever noticed.” https://t.co/kO3LuONrMC
@shannonandswift This is standard in an industry that tends to lionize the director and actors and often discounts the writer (unless said writer is the director). When a movie works, everyone forgets the writer. But they often get blamed if the movie fails.
