@realCoreyEngel I don’t know you, but don’t understand. This is one of America’s big problems?
Is it also a problem if someone takes a pause from their normal life to volunteer for an afternoon? As in, why is their daily job not “doing more good in the world”?
@DefiyantlyFree To understand what it means you also need to study the context. So purely what someone reads according to the text is incomplete. Can they put it in the context accurately without studying language, culture, and history?
A lot of bad theology derives from dismissing context.
@gotrice2024 BTW Marriott Vacation Club gives the same check out instructions as an Airbnb. Take out the trash, no dirty dishes, collect dirty towels. These are 2BR villas.
So if hotels EVER give you space, you have to do the same chores people complain about with Airbnb.
@gotrice2024 So many Airbnb hit pieces trying to convince the public that average people owning a couple properties is evil and to instead give money to corporations.
You think we could see some hotel nightmare stories?
@BowTiedQuoll As someone who is so pale that friends have been shocked at my skin tone with a shirt off, I no longer wear sunscreen.
Instead I wear a short sleeved quick dry shirt.
Largely no issues after that. I also use shade.
Can be in the sun with no burns for a good while.
@Havingfun2206@CinemaShogun It’s also the Rogan bro universe who have listened to Dave Smith for years. Now the cool thing is to blame Israel for everything and distrust “experts”.
@sometherapist@JYuter As a Christian I regularly consult Hebrew perspective for a broader understanding of passages and themes introduced by the text. So much wisdom and history that Americans in particular ignore.
@DeanChatt Faulty western thinking and translation is the problem. It’s written from a Jew to other Jews. Just means people from other nations should be brought into an understanding of Christ as He revealed himself to the Jews. The lure is “as you go” meaning lifestyle.
@SharylAttkisson “literally” the definition should be changed. Probably used accurately 20-40% of the time.
“gaslighting me” also has come to mean saying something about me I don’t like.
