I’m grateful for the awareness to make amends quickly, the tools that help keep selfishness in check, and simple daily practices like gratitude lists that keep me grounded. Left unchecked, pride and self-centeredness can quietly take over. Gratitude helps point me back toward humility, perspective, and connection.

A meeting yesterday reminded me that so much of our stress comes from carrying tomorrow’s worries, next month’s challenges, and things completely outside our control. Peace is often found by focusing on what’s right in front of us, doing today’s work, loving today’s people, and being grateful for today’s blessings.

One day at a time isn’t just good advice. It’s a better way to live.

Father Wismer is one of those rare people whose impact can’t really be measured. Through faith, guidance, humility and simply showing up for others, he has shaped countless lives over the years. So many students, families and friends are better because of the way he pours into people with consistency and care. Truly one of the great ones.
