My client base was largely blue pilled which censored me to some extent. If I were to fully embody my personal truth I would have pushed away business. For years this went on and on…
I am no longer censored!
My new business has to be in alignment with my principles from the start. I’m not saying clients have to completely agree with me but I have to be able to express my perspective.
Anarchism would be the highest form of societal enlightenment because it would mean the collective consciousness evolved to a level where government was no longer needed. I’ve known we are not close to that requirement for a long time. That didn’t discourage me from appreciating the philosophy but I couldn’t see it in application in the observable reality.
Panarchy could actually be implemented and be achievable. It would allow for the emergence of anarchy within small communities that are ready for it.
The reason anarchy can’t get a leg up is that it isn’t being tried and tested. It’s only theory.
This could be the lab for small beginnings. You have to start somewhere.
I have 3 content pillars.
1. Creative Alchemy - Enhancing life meaning, mental well-being, and human connections through art.
2. Artistic Methods - Teaching art and design through social media content, courses, and community.
3. Creative Strategy - Creating a conversion-focused website, self-promotion, building followers and fans, personal branding, messaging, etc.
All of my content that I write for blog posts, videos, x posts etc fall into one of these three categories and I branch off into other topics from these in a content tree.
With that framework I can write from anything really fast without the feeling of paralysis, deer in headlights dynamic.
I know some people just riff without a creative direction but I prefer a system to keep things flowing.
Authenticity still happens within the framework.
Almost every idea flops at first. If it didn't I would be cautious of that. Because it's so common for success to be the result of a history failed attempts. The key is learning from failure.
The best way to develop your unique message is to post because no one is listening.
Posting with no followers isn't at all a bad thing. How else do you get started?
You can say what you need to say with no reaction.
Going through the motions and developing a habit of writing is a great foundation.
I post almost like a public journal. I am building my new creative direction.
Writing is fun.
Editing sucks and I am not good at it.
If there is one valid reason why I wouldn't consider myself a writer that would be it.
Yeah, just have AI "fix" it but then it doesn't sound like I wrote it.
Had you rather read something that has mistake but is real and human generated?
Or perfect copy that is ran through AI but it sucks the soul out of it?
Digital products are a largely overlooked way to make money in the freelancer or creator economy.
I am currently making digital products.
What I found in building websites for other businesses is that they didn't know enough about their website to make it make sense.
They didn't see the value of spending when they don't really know what it can do for them.
The don't have a clear enough understanding to request the right services so they end up stressing over fine tuning the design.
Offering website design as a freelancing service quickly becomes educating, teaching, sharing and consulting. And that is fine!
But you might as well lead with education and give it away for free. (note to self)
The best thing I can do...
to help is provide digital products for people that are trying to do the work with the right creative direction...
and knowledge of what they are trying to build and why they are trying to build it.
I agree Dan, freelancing is freeing at all.
"What’s a more fulfilling line of work is there than getting paid to be yourself?
To sell products that have a positive impact on others.
To help people by talking about the interests that are important to you.
I know it sounds altruistic, but to me, that sounds a hell of a lot better than making money just to survive, even if it’s freelancing.
Freelancing wasn’t as free as I thought"
Great article from Dan about the future of creators and how beginners can grow just as fast as large creators.
Follower count doesn't matter anymore.
Well, not as much as it used to.
The good thing is that beginners can grow just as fast as large creators (if they know what they're doing).

The system of finding a job is broken.
I quickly figured out that I might as well start my creative business instead of working at a job.
So that is what I did.
The percentage of freelancers that exist in the job market is large and growing because…
You apply and blast your resume into a void of futility of other qualified applicants, bots, and ghost job postings.
If you get an interview its competing with many others in squid games style elimination rounds that are designed to make hr dept. feel important and look busy.
Jobs get filled by the person that actually has a personal connection. You'll discover there was never any intention to hire anyone else in the first place.
You end up wasting time you could have been building your business and providing value to someone that YOU actually have a personal connection with.
When you make your own business your priority, you end up building up businesses you believe in.
