When dealing with the problems of existential risk, it can be easy to lose hope. During a recent Q&A, Soryu Forall gave his response to this challenge:
1/ One way of looking at the emotions we feel is that they indicate a kind of implicit, moral ordering of things. So said @dthorson in a recent retreat about emotions here at the Monastic Academy ๐
I was talking to my Dad and he said, "What's your latest half utopian idea for schools?" And I told him about amplify (grow what worked well), hospice (let go what isn't working), and create (what needs to be invented). Sounds remarkably pragmatic, he said. Thanks Dad!

My guys organized an amazing protest today in Little Rock. Big ups to @WendellScalesJr and Johnny Laine for making it happen for the students! Cool to see Gov. @AsaHutchinson support. Photo cred: @jd_pittman (of course) #NeverWhisperJustice
"It is a lynching at the highest level. No one can deny that," Dr. @CornelWest tells @andersoncooper of the death of George Floyd. "I thank God that we have people in the streets."
"Could you imagine this kind of lynching taking place and people were indifferent?" he asks.
"We must refocus our energy on a foundation built on a sense of purpose, forging relationships and maximizing the potential and talents of all children."

There needs to be a "Hack the Crisis" challenge in every country. Collective action is an obvious need right now, but it needs a middle man creating structure and support. This could help.
Amazing idea by Estonia and now Finland. They created a 48 hour design challenge for government, business, and citizens to innovate solutions to the crisis. #coronavirus

@jericwilson Would love to hear what effect you think it might have. It seems there will be inevitable grief and hardship as inequality deepens along many lines. At the same time, I wonder if this period might bring a positive reconsideration of the purpose and approach to school in the US.
