I didn't include some other sensors that have recently come online, due to either lack of time (Arctic Weather Satellite) or data access (FY-3x, WSF-M, METOP-SG MWS) - but the list of passive microwave sensors on orbit is growing rapidly!
I've compiled a set of microwave sensor overpasses of Hurricane Melissa over the past few days. First up: MHS. Currently operational on two satellites (METOP-B and METOP-C), this sensor provides relatively coarse resolution 183 GHz imagery, but could still resolve Melissa's eye.
Finally, the https://t.co/RyuIkgcF7d TMS constellation (building on the TROPICS concept) had five sensors capturing multiple views of Melissa each day (disclaimer: this is what I currently am working on!)
@DCFootballFan16@kaniff01281@grantpaulsen Yup. Averaging 4 points/drive that didn't end in a fumble, so would have put up 39 points, would have been a much closer game.
Here we go! Our first two microwave sounders are now providing low-latency science data. These observations will fill critical gaps in the passive microwave observing system for monitoring tropcial cyclones and other high-impact weather events!

11 days after launch, Tomorrow-S1 and Tomorrow-S2 began collecting data.
