Another whirl in the fawlty memory machine.
We're back to a time when life, though simpler for sure, still crowded the mind.
To add to that crowding, the Mayo football team back then were not performing like the heroes of 2026!
Hon Mayo!

Part II of the Fawlty Memory voyage across Castlebar in the 1975 mindset of a ten-year-old to the Connacht Final!
Hope you enjoy!

A heap, or as we'd pronounce it "a hape" of Fawlty Memories here. Going back fifty plus years for that unpredictably irregular, and thus all the all sweeter when it occurred, ritual of a Connacht Final in McHale Park.
Back for round three in a world where, despite fear of a vengeful God and even more vengeful, God-like grownups, fun was somehow wrung out of our haphazard boyish experiences.
If you enjoy, please share with others.
Happy Christmas!

Here's a trip in the Fawlty Memory machine back to when the powers that be made the stakes appear to be very high indeed!
The attached photo is of the "leather" mentioned in this piece.
Howaye:
I have been a little busy lately and didn't get to post anything, but here's a new one from a recent trip.
Hope you enjoy.

Happy New Year!
Here's a few short pieces for your reading pleasure. Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine or both (the uppers and downers of the 2020s!) and have a relaxing read!

Howaye now! The summer is all cooked and it's time to scribble out another episode from the Fawlty Memory Machine.
Hope you enjoy the read.

Once upon a time in Ireland the pub was the internet! You could meet all sorts of people, hear all kinds of unverifiable stories, get entertained by a wit, or frightened by a conflict, and the price of entry was merely a pint!

Forty short years ago Ireland was a different place. Perhaps a bit more interesting, but if so, it came a big price!
The lads are back on the rant, driven by the stress (a word we didn't have back then!) of current events.
