In college, I made an observation to one of my suite mates that I thought I probably heard the word monkey at least once a day.

Within a couple days he remarked that he kept hearing it too.

This started a two year trend of us agreeing to never say the word unless the other had already heard it somewhere else that day. We let the other one know we had heard it by just saying the word.

There were only three days when neither of us heard the word.
