It was a special day at the White House for UFOA and @fdny_ufa members Lt. Justin Hespeler, Lt. Jason Hickey, and Firefighter Patrick Thornton were among nine people awarded the Presidential Medal of Valor, the highest honor in the country bestowed on public safety officers.
@NYPDnews Detectives Wilbert Mora and Jason Rivera, who were tragically killed last year while responding to a call, posthumously received the Medal of Valor. Detective Sumit Sulan, who fatally shot their attacker, also received the award. Well earned honors for all!

We’re excited to spotlight the Arlington Fire District, who was recently awarded a $13,500 grant to purchase new FAST equipment. Their new FAST Rope and Rescue Air Packs will be used in Arlington and neighboring towns when their FAST Team responds to mutual aid calls.
