It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Jerry Pelletier, an esteemed alumnus of the Sonenberg lab and a pioneering figure in the field of mRNA translational control. He was more than a colleague; he was a cherished friend and mentor to many.

@UMassChan He was a brilliant scientist who made seminal contributions to many fields. Transcription, splicing, virology, cancer; his insights impacted on all these areas. I worked in his lab during my postdoctoral fellowship and remember it as a scientifically exciting and dynamic place.
